Nneka is a singer/songwriter/rapper who's shaping up to be one of the most anticipated artists of 2010. She has roots in Nigeria and Germany, giving her a distinct transcultural sound. She also sticks out from the pack because of her message of hope, love, and optimism, and because she isn't afraid of being highly political in her lyrics and the imagery she uses. Some of the artists I'd compare her to are Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, and Mos Def.
"The Uncomfortable Truth" showcases Nneka's passionate and soulful vocals over mellow, vintage horns. Take a look at the video
Nneka's video for "The Uncomfortable Truth," off her debut US release Concrete Jungle (out Feb 2nd on Yo Mama/Decon/Epic Records)
