Collective Exhibition ➔ A Quarta Pata

Up at the Torke  headquarters (Portugal) , a mad collective exhibition just began last week with Vanessa Teodoro, Tamara Alves and José Carvalho entitled “A quarta pata” (the 4th leg). You can check some pics of what went down that night, with lot’s of art, music, cupcakes and beer.

Hailing from Tampa Bay, Florida, Pale Horse is the moniker and studio space of illustrator & graphic designer Chris Parks. The illustrations he creates are absolutely insane. Pale Horse also actively hosts and participates in various gallery exhibitions throughout the US, Europe and Asia. 

The Last Fiesta' is a 12-skateboard deck shout-out to Leonardo da Vinci's 'The Last Supper' with Jesus Christos and his 12 Luchador apostles getting down one last time.

Pedro Chamorra and Pedro Pinto share a passion not only for music but also for pure sound and spend a large part of their lives in the weirdly named Magical Audio Unicorn bunker/studio, exploring and creating their own unique brand of sounds with both old and new technology, like samplers, analog synthesizers and sequencers, digital effects, hi-end studio equalizers and compressors, digital percussion, traditional instruments, avant-garde plugins and deliberately modified software and hardware. And then they sample the crap out of it.

It's not so much that Voxels want to do something insanely original - a very misleading concept these days- but more that they try to make it in their own voices: Loud, banging, intense, emotional and pretty (or ugly). And it sounds good, the kick hit's you like a punch in the chest and the basslines make your whole body shake while you listening to the beautiful vocals or the carefully crafted synth sounds drawing you into a trance that celebrates the essence of dance music.

Voxels are born, and you should keep an eye and two ears on them cause they're bond to do great things. You have been warned.

Jeremy Scott Fall 2011 ➔ Manic Panic

That crazy neon trend from Spring 2011 is running over into Fall 2011. 

Jeremy Scott believes, devoutly, that:

 "You should have fun with fashion." 

He said it after the show, wrinkling his nose at some of his overserious fellow designers. "It shouldn't be a church that you pray to," he added. This from the guy who two seasons ago made a return-to-New York splash with little black dresses bedecked with crystal crosses—probably about as close to an ecclesiastical habit as he's likely ever to get. And if fashion isn't a fabulous sort of church, what gives with the first look in his Fall collection that hit the runway today—a metal-mesh tank digitally printed with a twisted version of the Coke logo: "Enjoy God"?

Never mind that for the moment. A Jeremy Scott collection is often a grab bag of different ideas, and God was only one of those on display here. The more dominant one was the nineties. "I was thinking a lot about 1994: going to school, getting dressed up to go to parties, the enthusiasm I had," Scott continued. There was bombast to spare in his haute nineties—so joyfully vulgar you wanted to call it bas nineties—furry neon dresses in angora (a new material for the label), plastic jackets, and Manic Panic-ed pigtails.

Giuseppe Mastromatteo ➔ Indepensense

Giuseppe Mastromatteo was born in 1970 on the 6thof August. After a period spent as a recordist assistant inside a record company, he graduated from Accademia di Comunicazione di Milano in art direction. His professional experience in the world of advertising became significant in 2001 when he was promoted as creative director. He writes about the Arts, teaches Advertising at various significant academic institutions, and collaborates with the Triennale Museum of Milan in the role of art director. Since 2005 his works have been exhibited at the Fabbrica Eos Art Gallery, Milan as well as at national and international art fairs. He currently lives and works in New York.
