Haute Couture Week should be the most important event in the fashion world. Right now, even though it isn’t, it’s when the big fashion houses can think and act big and create amazing pieces with a level of craftsmanship that can’t be found anywhere else. That’s why it still is so important and influential. But beyond all those tons of heavenly embroidered fabric, we have amazing concepts and ideas, worked in the purest way possible in fashion.
The madness and visual impact of the Dior and Gaultier Couture collections didn’t let anyone down. Galliano worked with flowers, their stiffness and softness, and of course, vibrance of colour. Gautier worked with his Parisian woman that we have been getting to know ever since he started creating. These two shows pretty much sum up the most wild and raw side of Couture, the jaw-dropping side that we all still love, despite the minimalism of current times. And to capture that energy, what better than some fun and beautiful backstage pictures?
