The Evolution of Daft Punk Helmets

A fairly thorough infographic of all the Daft Punk helmets throughout history compiled by Daft Club member, the chart demonstrates Daft Punk's progressively less-is-more evolution of their headgear, starting from the heavily configurable LED helmets which featured hearts and smiley faces and other messages of peace, love, understanding and respect. This design was in keeping with the heavy pop disco flavor of Daft Punk's 2001 album Discovery.
The duo's helmets and overall appearance became very stripped down with expressionless helmets and neck-to-toe black leather in accordance with 2005's Human After All, which showcased a far more sinister sound.
As part of the Alive 2007 tour, those helmets and costumes were augmented with glow-in-the-dark versions that invoked memories of 1982's Tron, the sequel to which, Tron: Legacy, Daft Punk scored, and their modified appearances for that film are tracked on the chart as well.

Roberto Piqueras SS 2011

For Spring / Summer 2011, fashion designer Roberto Piqueras emblazoned basic white cotton t-shirts, cropped tank tops, leggings, t-shirt dresses with a series of different prints.
One set of garments features large circular geometric prints. On another set of cotton basics, it was cheeky superimposed prints of the curves of Barbie or the curves of her male counterpart, Ken. The designer dotted some pieces with red, orange, green, purple and yellow spots. A graphic print mix of arrow heads, addition and equals to signs covered a bodysuit, pair of leggings, tank top and micro t-shirt dress.
Piqueras collection of sporty printed pieces was offset with two shaggy fur coats. Both were a neo rave mix of neon pink, black and white.

TESSEL

Tessel is a kinetic sound installation investigating the perception of sound and space. The installation is constituted of a suspended and articulated topography of 4 x 2 m, subdivided into forty triangles. Twelve of them are fitted with motors and eight are equipped with audio transducers, which transform the surface into a dynamic sonic space. A dialogue between space and sound is created through this sculptural "choreography".
Our perception is altered, as the surface slowly modifies its shape.
From Tinguely's poetic machines to Alexander Calder's mobiles or Buckminster Fuller's synergetics, Tessel combines influences that question the link between geometry, movement and chaos, thus continuing the quest for beauty in the synesthetic perception of sound and spatial phenomenons.
Tessel is a collaboration between French composer and artist David Letellier, and LAb[au], Belgian electronic arts studio.
