Abandoned Televisions ➔ Alex Beker

The Abandoned Televisions photo series is sure to strike a cord in pop culture-loving individuals. It captures a bygone era in which these old, discarded TVs used to play classic shows like ‘Little House on the Prairie,’ ‘Wonder Woman’ and ‘The Muppets.’ As though reminiscing about the good ol’ days, these TVs aren’t the normally darkened versions of their former selves, but are quite radiant with images of these retro shows on their screens.

Shot by Miami-based graphic designer, art director and photographer Alex Beker, the Abandoned Televisions show the importance of remembering. As Beker puts it, “Suddenly, a discarded black box dying on a sidewalk comes back to life, and so do we—to our past life. In an instant, we identify the show, its characters and maybe even a particular episode, and we are rejuvenated by the memory.”

Duck Sauce ➔ 'Big Bad Wolf' Video

"Big Bad Wolf" "is pretty simple, and it can mean anything, really, so we wanted the video to have its own narrative," says A-Trak, one-half of the dance duo Duck Sauce, along with DJ Armand Van Helden.
"Remember when dance music videos used to actually be creative? Like when you think back to Aphex Twin, Fatboy Slim and Daft Punk… I don't know why the genre's videos became so generic in recent years."

"When Keith Schoffield came up with this idea of 'crotchfaces,' we just thought it was hilarious," A-Trak continues. "He started coming up with all these gags and describing the characters living in this sort of parallel world, and we were sold. He wasn't sure if we'd be down to play the leads, but our take on this was, if we're going to do this, we need to go all the way. So we played the dickheads, essentially."

ANDREW MYERS ➔ MAD 80´s

Toronto based photographer Andrew Myers was recognized last year as one of the best emerging Canadian photographers by the Magenta Foundation. His compositions and colors are keys to his minimalist style.
Photographing random 80s objects such as toys, vhs tapes, globes or old typewriters on simple, colorful backgrounds – the result is delightful!Shot with a Canon 7D, all his digital photographs are then retouched to arrive to these mad color treatments.

Following to its initial team up with Jeremy Scott, Swiss watchmakers Swatch unveils another set of attention-grabbing timepieces. Five new quirky designs are presented as the new offerings arrive with signature Jeremy Scott finishes seen throughout the wristwatches and lone pocket watch.

M83. ➔ MIDNIGHT CITY

The long-awaited new video for M83′s first single from the new album, Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming, is as mad as we thought it would be. Channeling the classic Village of the Damned, a group of psychic kids escape from a hospital and unleash their telekinetic powers into the world. What we learn is that psychic kids are creepy, with those white eyes of theirs, but even creepier is how the defacto leader has an eerily, uncanny resemblance to Anthony Gonzalez, the man behind M83. Parents, sleep with one eye open.

Pencil vs. Camera ➔ Ben Heine

Pencil vs. Camera by brussels based photographer Ben Heine is a series of images that inject hand-drawn pictures within real-life settings to create a composite effect that is often surreal and highly narrative.
Manipulating the backdrop to host added elements such as real-life tetris blocks, floating speech bubbles, and an alcoholic panda, the photographs are an exercise in manual photoshop, always including Heine's hand which holds up the sketched piece of paper in the foreground.
Alarmingly accurate and crisply focused, the series puts great care in the alignment and perspective required to successfully pull off the optical illusion. Heine creates seemingly effortless snapshots that are highly imaginative and contextual.
