Bombay Bicycle Club ➔ Shuffle

Bombay Bicycle Club launched their new single, Shuffle.
This London 4-piece has already put out 3 EPs, and 2 full length albums, all of which are worth your attention. This new single is more than enough to make you smile. The soft vocal style of Jack Steadman are the perfect compliment to the repetitious piano sample. Coupled with a poppy beat, you won’t have a hard time listening to this track a few times over.

Bombay Bicycle Club will perform at Optimus Alive 2011, Lisbon, Portugal (July 7)
You can expect this track on their next album, A Different Kind of Fix, which will be out August 29th.

“Born to Resist” ➔ Vanessa Teodoro

“Born to Resist”, the latest show from Vanessa Teodoro took place last week at the Eastpak store in Lisboa (till 1st july).
Check out some photos of the show below.

HEYHEYHEY ➔ Melvin the Machine

Melvin the Machine is best described as a Rube Goldberg machine with a twist.
Besides doing what Rube Goldbergs do best – performing a simple task as inefficiently as possible, often in the form of a chain reaction – Melvin has an identity.
Actually, the only purpose of this machine is promoting its own identity. Melvin, who was created by Dutch Studio, HEYHEYHEY, takes pictures and makes video’s of his audience which he instantly uploads to his blog, Facebook and Twitter account.
Besides that he also makes his own merchandise. The whole crazy process happens in about four minutes!

➔ Liu Bolin vs. Kenny Scharf

Chinese contemporary artist Liu Bolin is a genius when it comes to street art. He's known as a modern-day magician who camouflages himself (usually with the help of assistants) so that his whole body seamlessly blends into the background.
Street artist Kenny Scharf recently painted Liu Bolin into his mural on Bowery and Houston.

What a mad, well-executed idea!

Every month Mad SubCulture will bring you fresh djs from the Portuguese dance scene. All featured DJs will do an exclusive mix for Mad Subculture, stay tuned...
This month our fresh Dj is Bitsound a young promising kid from Lisbon!
From an early age that Tiago Silva became interested in electronic music, specially by its most alternative genres. Participating in several festivals, buying CDs, exchanging experiences among friends involved in the field and practicing at private parties and at home, Bitsound creates a musical style quite selective and unique ranging from Electro, Indie-Dance to Techno or Acid House. The project Bitsound was created when Tiago was only 16 years old with only one goal: To keep everybody dancing at all times! From him, the audience can expect outgoing and MAD performances, with deep and electrifying beats. Stay tuned as Bitsound came to stay and will generate plenty of buzz.
