Poney Poney - Cross The Fader EP

The renaissance of French music continues apace. Since Daft Punk first appeared all those years ago, a lot of ears have happily opened up to the output of our Gallic cousins. One of the latest and most promising is Poney Poney, originally the project of Antoine Hilaire but now expanded by a drummer and bass player (Samuel Nicolas and Florent Lyonne), apparently after his backing track supplying iPod was stolen.

Cross The Fader EP

'Cross The Fader' sees them benefit from the magic hands of countrymen Justice on the desk, giving their garage rock a suitably twenty first century shock and awe sheen. Although linked to the electronic scene, they are a more straight forward breed, rocking it with guitars as much as with beats and showing a lot of 'rock' bands how it should be done in the process. Teaming the energy of The Stooges with the sonic thunder of Justice, a mighty combination.
