Duane Hanson

Former art teacher in Germany and in the USA, Duane Hanson devoted the rest of his life to sculpure, standing out of the main art movement of the time, the abstract expressionism, by doing hyperealistic sculptures. He realizes full-scale sculptures of people, who aim to be icons of the American middle class. He was part of the leaders of the hyperrealistic movement.

If you’re in Paris, go to see the exposition of his sculptures at La Villette until August 15th, free entrance!
